Communicative Practice: Personal Questions

Abstract

The first two stages of teaching spoken English are Presentation and Practice. Most teachers in fact stop at this point. Yet up to now our pupils have not had to use the language in any real sense. They have not had to communicate. They have simply been manipulating language forms.
